Got to love little surprises that our land rovers give us. Actually i dont think it can surprise me any more.
One door is completely finished so i can sand that down and get that painted up on the weekend.

So last night finished off the door bottom repair "YAY" and everyone helping was happy, Until i decided to start poking around the door looking at what else needed to be done and coming across some bodyfiller well scraping that off reveled a crack in the door and there was also a matching one on the other side.
Que the music and get the grinder out and time for some more cutting of metal and welding and then cover it up with some seam sealer. But we ran out of time to do the other side. So i wont be painting 2 doors this weekend like had originally intended but oh well never mind, still got some hinges and a door to paint so thats okay.

Door Bottom all finished Thumbs Up

Never have truer words been spoken there haha. Just one of those lovely inconveniences lol

Well last night my mate phoned me and said that he just cracked on as he had a bit of spare time and has fixed the other side that was cracked aswell. No pictures of that, but that means tonight will drive over and collect the other door from his so i have both doors to spray this weekend and then should be able to fit them back to the 90. along with changing the striker plate and fitting the door cards. and then fitting the brackets to the seats. Going to be a busy weekend Thumbs Up Very Happy 1995 Land Rover Discovery 300tdi - Sold

Well in true bank holiday style it was over in a flash and its back to work haha.
But i did manage to get the doors painted which is a bonus.
So it started off with Saturday just sanding them down and then giving them a coat of primer.
Sunday was the day where they were then painted blue and given a clear coating.
and Monday was a kind of rest day but also the general house tidying jobs haha.

Saturday

Get the primer paint on the doors

Thats the doors back on the 90, After weeks of repairing and painting the doors they are finally on and they lined up rather well. After the series doors didnt really fit. And these doors now actually close. A few little jobs left on them like putting some barrel locks in as they dont have any and window winder for one door then door cards back on.

Plus got round to test fitting on of the new seats i bought a few months back

CLOSED and a nice flush fit. Smile

Aye, i am much happier with these doors on now that they are repaired and what not, even though i said at some point in this thread i prefered the series doors. Can always put the series doors back on it if i want to at some stage.

And yes i didnt want to get out of the seat once i sat in it and could drive it easier than sat on the seat box haha. I have to admit i did close all the doors and park it up and have a little moment of self reflection of "i have missed this".
As much as the mini is nice to drive and cruise in it just doenst have that special feeling when in the landy haha Very Happy 1995 Land Rover Discovery 300tdi - Sold

Sprayed the door cards black from the original gray. And then just a quick test fit to see what they look like as i need to fix the barrel on the doors so they can lock. Also put the wind deflectors on the doors Very Happy

Spent the day putting new door handles on fitting the barrels into them, The passanger door went smoothly and is now done it locks and shuts Very Happy Just need to get the window winder from the garage at home and fit that.

The drivers door was a bit of a stubborn git to do, and well the old door handle ended up getting some brute force used on it, but in doing so lost 2 of the Linkage clips and the door couldnt get finished off so ordered new linkage clips and will fit them as soon as they arrive so i can then finish off the drivers door and put the door card on and that will be that job done.
