LED Lights in France
Bonjour!! Over the past 20+ years we have towed our caravan into France and always carried a spare set of bulbs for car and caravan as required by their law. However as our recently acquired Defender has LED light units for side-lights, indicators and reversing light I am not sure of the law in respect to carrying spares. As you may be aware you cannot change the individual LED's, only a complete replacement of the light unit (on my USW anyway) is the only option.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Bow down Discovery 4 HSE

It is not compulsory to carry spare bulbs anymore, it is a recommendation:

Not necessary but I take one of each light as a spare just in case anyway. It’s always good to have a spare Mr. Green Ray

Even though the Range Rover and the other car are nearly all LED I still been packing the same light bulb pack I made up for my 200 TDi 90 15 years ago because if pulled would they know about LED's ? Now I know why I have never been asked to show them Laughing
