Sorry I meant do you place on top of the old felt?

All I did was slide the tie under the window in the channel so I assume this where any old felt would be

2009 Defender 90 Puma 2.2 XS CSW Santorini Black

I have just tracked the window rattle down in my 90. However, it was not the felt that was the problem as it turned out to be the rear fixed window that was rattling. I traced it (by tapping and listening from the outside of the car) to the rear upper corner of the glass.

I could have taken the windows out and replaced all the rubber seals, but I am happy with the sliver of pipe insulation that I pressed into the gap between the glass and the frame on the inside. Hopefully this will last a while!
