Two weeks ish ago Matford changed the wheelboxes, the rack and the motor on mine under warranty. Took them about 4.5 hours including a Valet afterwards. I know as I was drinking all their tea and getting my monies worth out of their Wifi connection whilst waiting. Whistle

Hope he's not been smoking his namesake 😳

4.5 hours does seem more reasonable Devon-Rover, with my Main dealer that would be over 500 labour!

All done, no screws left over! Bit of a job 9 hours+. I'm afraid it was taking so long I gave up on the photos. Thanks for all the advice and encouragement.

Good work .. very satisfying when it's all back together!

Unfortunately mine didn't stay together for very long as decided to try and reduce the heat inside in the few days of summer that we have. All the headlining is currently out and dynamat is being applied everywhere. Hopefully it will stop it being quite so hot!

If you want to reduce heat build up, then you need to install some closed cell foam over the Dynamat. The latter is really just to stop the panels resonating.

I've recently done mine:

I can confirm the genuine wheel boxes are and have always been made of steel.

Ask me how I know.... Mad

After not using the wipers for a good few weeks, the o/s one decided to seize up, and also managed to destroy the park switch in the process, great.. Big Cry

Luckily I had a spare motor with what I thought had a good switch, but no! Neutral 80" 80" 86" 88" 90"

Wanted, Forward Control Anything considered.

Although my wipers are still working they jammed the other day on intermittent.
I managed to free them up in the end but imo is a warning to check them out.

What likely caused them to jam up, I'm guessing the wiper wheel boxes themselves perhaps a gear but happened in dry weather after little use for a while.

Shall I replace the wiper wheel boxes? As far as I'm aware the park switch, the motor etc are all fine.
I'm not sure how well lubed they are currently either, I haven't touched them before but there is a bit of corrosion on the outside regarding the spindle.

I've also got a little puller, as I'm pretty sure they wouldn't just come off as I tried. Laughing Diesels Lives Matter. ⛽️🛢️👨‍🔧🧰⚙️
