How hard is it to fit a new windscreen to a 90? Is it possible DIY?
I'm thinking of getting a heated version fitted ready for winter. I'm trying to research and find posts like this which are a bit vague as to it its possible: https://www.pressreader.com/uk/land-rover-...5056433506 Any help/hints would be great Thanks Ade |

 If you don't mind me asking what did they charge you for fitting? Did you buy/provide the windscreen? |

I supplied the 'screen, and I am afraid that I can't remember the fitting cost, but it wasn't much. It seemed a good approach compared with the ease with which you can break the glass or scratch the paint when fitting a screen.

I agree just ring a couple of local ones chances are it'll be tax free beer money for them. It's worth getting a new seal too, old ones go hard with age and make fitting more difficult, even if the old one fits ok it could start perishing and looking awful in a few months anyway. Mention to the fitter you have a new seal too, it might make them give a more favourable quote.
Sadly the two big brands no longer have branches you can go to. I used to take minis to my local Autowindscreens to get (non setting) sealant put under the screen rubbers - They used to charge me about a tenner, that was cheaper than I could buy the sealant for at the time!  |

Got my screen from VGS via ebay and fitted myself using some cheap washing up liquid and some polypropylene cord from Screwfix.
I used a new Bearmach seal which fitted nicely but i had to preheat it in boiling water as it was only 1-2deg when i fitted over winter. Although i did mine on my own, i would thoroughly recommend two people as it will avoid a lot of frustration whilst fitting. When doing my research I found lots of people said the Bearmach seal was just as good as the genuine LR, so that was on my list
I'd consider myself handy at DIY, have fitted new swivels, axels, turbo, etc; so really tempted to have a go at fitting the windscreen   |
