Clayton, looks like a cracking show that. Shame the dealer was wide of the mark with the number plate on the defender though Laughing

Doe Triple D's were fairly common around here but soon got left in the brambles when higher horsepower tractors with 4wd came along.

Then all of a sudden there was a price explosion as collectors started wanting them, and old wrecks started fetching eye-watering prices that made Series Ones look cheap.

A friend of mine is kicking himself for scrapping one, just before it became worth a mint! Big Cry

PS. Perhaps the Dealer was celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Series Two, on that Defender! Whistle

Nice to see a hard top Defender 110, most people seem to go for 90 or Station Wagon or soft top these days.

Well..Sitting in the 110 in the works car park (access gates either end) I saw a two up on a scooter whizz by. Odd but there are some oddities by work. They then turned around and came back in the car park and stopped at the entrance. One jumps off and run towards a mates motorbike parked up.

I had an idea what they were up to, so quickly into reverse then 1st and lots of revs and shot towards them at speed just as one of the rats decided he wanted to help himself to the bike. He dropped it, legged it and his fellow rat on the scooter went as well.

Enough revs from the 110 to alert the staff in the garage who came over as they saw my car/heard it and thought something was up with the car.

Damage to the motorbike, bent left hand end of the handle bar, broken steering lock, and exhaust off the rubber hanger.

This was at 16:30 in the works car park. 1999 Defender TD5 110
