I've cut holes in hundreds and hundreds of these 'membranes' when I was a windscreen fitter... I did around 35 in one day, when a gang of kids went around an estate smashing car windows... I made some money that day!!

We used to duct tape them back up. Sometimes they're foam, polythene, soft plastic, hard plastic etc, all sealed on with silicone, sikaflex, butyl tape etc etc.

I've been to fix other bad fitter's errors where they've tore them off completely, resulting in wet carpets.

only problem with gaffer tape is after a few years in the damp and heat in a car the adhesive fails and leaves a big hole in it...

Not if you use good quality tape.

Are these liners purely for post 2007 Puma/TDCI or do they fit the TD5 as well? 2006 TD5

They fit the later all-steel doors, which first appeared on TD5's from '05.

They may well fit earlier doors too, but they are moulded to a specific shape that might not be a good fit.

You'd have thought LR would try and keep water out in the beginning rather than designing the seals to allow it in and into the door inner and though drain holes.

"Land Rover" - - - - "keep water out". I rather think they gave up on that idea in 1948 and put it on the too difficult list Smile
