[For Sale] 110 under-arch fuel tank and Td5 crossmember

I'll post some piccies up later, but I have:

a 110 rear "under arch" auxiliary fuel tank. It's the "flow through" type, where you cut the filler pipe at either end and this tank (snugly) fits in.

Now, I got it second hand, covered in grime. Got it shotblasted and there's a few holes in it (mainly where mud had built up on it), pictures will show this, but being as it's more or less "square" shaped and flat sides, then getting some plate cut to size and re-welded in won't be an issue (if I had the time and inclination I'd do it myself, but I have neither

)

Tank comes with the filler pipe adaptor bit as well

I'll be looking for £60 for it.

Also have an undamaged but used Td5 gearbox crossmember; the bolt in "flat" bottomed type. £15

Both items are in Swindon. Postage will be quite high (especially for the tank) so collection is more than welcome, or if I'm around anywhere when at work that's near to you then we can sort something out.

Rusty marks are just surface rust as it's been shotblasted, so bare metal, and it's been sat in my garage for a while.

2000 Defender 130 Td5 HCPU Nato Green No Canopy

So the tank fits inside the tub and fills once the main tank is fill. Then slowly drains into the main tank...

Is that correct?

It basically takes up the rear corner of the tub...

Think it will fit a 130?

Yes, I think the proper term for them is "fill through", so you stick the pump nozzle in the usual filler, pump away, fuel will flow through the aux tank, then into the main tank... main tank fills to the brim then starts to fill the aux tank.

So, your fuel guage won't move until the aux tank runs empty. I suppose some mileage calculations will need to be worked out so you can tell when the aux tank has emptied.

There is a balance pipe than can be fitted (see extra pics below), which is supposed to stop an air lock that can occur; but I've heard that others with a fill through tank don't have them fitted and have no problems.

No idea about the defender but my TD5 Disco gauge would trip out and show empty with full warning light on when both tanks were full, then as the aux tank emptied out it would go mental and finally settle down to full. 90 wolf - Jasmin http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic39408.html

I'm pretty sure defenders just sit at "full" until the aux tank empties, then guage works as per normal.

FWIW, I think the crossmember will also fit a Puma, it certainly looks the same.

It hasn't got the "Am I missing a gearbox mount?" Bracket. But yes, looks the same

^^^^ ah, this was a special order crossmember to ease the minds of puma owners who thought there was a bracket missing.

It's now worth twice as much
