Another day, another badly designed Landrover part Rolling Eyes while washing mine yesterday I pushed on the vent flap which felt like it slightly opened. I didn't think anything of it until I put the cars away last night and went to close the flap and found the lever just flopping about Big Cry I checked out prices of a new one last night just Incase I couldn't fix it today and new they are.........£168!!!!!! Shocked it turns out the pin that holds it all together is just hammered over to fix it Rolling Eyes

The offending pin Evil or Very Mad

After taking the dash apart and struggling to get the whole mech out I managed to pop the pin back in place with some grips

And then peen the end back over on the vice

So although is was a massive pain and could be much better designed at least I managed to save myself a big chunk of cash

Do those bonnet hinges totally cure the td5 bonnet rattle? Mine is driving me mad sat at idle, the passenger side rattles away all the time, despite new hinge bushes and slight bending of the bulkhead hooks to try and tighten them. I put two new genuine bushes in the other day and it was worse than the old ones!

My tdci never rattles, I assume because the tdci bonnet is that much heavier

Graftys is the one that's got to white lettered, yours isn't as pimped as his for the white lettering, and he knows that too! Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back
