I went beating today, so my fellow beaters could shoot on Beaters' Day.
There was no bird limit so they shot nearly 200! It was the last day of the season for me and I won't see the shoot or most of the people again until September. 
Roll on the heat, the flies, the hay fever and the endless grass cutting.  |

You should organise a shoot/bbq at your local shooting ground
Gives everyone a chance to shoot, can be used as a safety training exercise, collecting shoot subscriptions & a chance to ensure the general overall standard of shooting is upto scratch. We do quite a few of these for local syndicates Guy May your life be like toilet paper ; long & useful. |

J F Neville’s in Alfreton. I got my old gun from them. John in the shop is straight down the line. Been looking for a good, used Heritage for a while and this one has beautiful wood (although I know it’s very subjective). |

Not only was he drunk and arsing about with a loaded handgun on his person, but it had a round in the chamber and clearly the safety was off! I wish he'd shot himself in the a-hole when he put it back in his strides. |

Dumb as dumb can be. Finger stay off the trigger till you have to shoot. And he walks away with a dumb smile on his face. |

"Assault rifle" is a political term used by the media, politicians and those who have an unnatural fear of modern firearms.
I was at a big shooting event years ago and was able to shoot the British bullpup, SA80 with select fire. Being a big fan of bullpups I was grinning ear to ear. There were machine guns everywhere including a minigun and 50 caliber magazine fed rifles. The event went on for 3 days with camping and parties at night. Everyone had fun and nobody died. One of my shooting buddies is British and he has quite the collection of "modern rifles" including an Israeli bullpup. Says "mate" and "cheers" alot though  |

I miss the '80 i was issued, it was a funny old thing, the bloke before me did something to the safety, to the point where it would only go on safe if you had the upper receiver off the TMH, which funnily would cause you to fail a WHT/APWT if you had this weapon as the sod wouldn't go safe. Bloody accurate and hard as nails, i remember a certain Trooper who dropped his rifle a good 30m in the air from the loading hatch of a chinook onto a hard deck with only a bit of damage to the finish. I still have a couple of bayonets for it lying around here somewhere...
