Easter break is sadly over.

But it was a good one.

Managed to get the winch wired up and get the synthetic rope spooled on.

We packed the truck and set of to the danish island of Møn.

The place called Klintholm has been certified by the The International Dark-Sky Association as the only Dark Sky Park in Denmark.

But we didn´t count on the 5 inches of snow.. but anyway, off we went.

The 2 hour drive lead us to Mandemark Haver (mann field garden) But the shelter site was for "hikers" only so the bus and tent had to go elsewhere.

Luckily we had booked our selv a spot at the campsite nearby. Møns Klint resort

And what a campsite. Very Happy Very Happy

We got a spot in the tent section all by ourselves.

Got the tent up and started to feel at home.

After a chilly night in the tent we got up to the most awesome sunshine. Breakfast in the snow and sun, life couldn´t be better.

We packed up and went to unregister at the campsite office

The owner hadn´t noticed that we where in the land rover and tent, so he at once stuffed a map in my hand and said that next time we came he ad a better spot for us to camp... and then drew a spot on the map... After some talking he said we should go look and see if it was good enough for our next visit. ...We agreed and followed the map..

It was amazing, a small dirt road lead us to this amazing view.

We are for certain going back... and it could be very soon.

Well i startede just about 2 weeks ago, and i not there JUST yet.. but almost.

Bought a new mudstuff console.
spent HOURS rewiring the buttons until i found out that the radio only JUST could fit..
So rewire once more, to get the wires to sit nicely around the radio and then try and fit..

Planning position and buttons

OK, the swivel ball gasket challenge was up..

Broke out all the tools, had good lunch, had good coffee, had the girlfriend kiss me good luck..

Well this is how it ended... Big Cry

No pictures, as i had a h... of a fight with the 7 bolts holding the end of the axel.
And halfway i noticed that i need new swivels... so i sent it to my mechanic, on the back of af flatbed, as i already had drained the grease of the joint. Now im just waiting for his text that the truck is ready friday as we agreed.. Big Cry 1999 TD5 "M2 Registered" 110" STW

Finally the mechanic called, the truck was ready. packed up the daily driver (opel astra) and we went to pick it up.
all new shiny swivel balls, oil in the gearbox, and axels, and ready to go.

On the way home we had planned a sleepover (just because we could) in what normally is a very quiet forest scout camp.
But the neighbors daughter turned 18 so we had bass pumping music until 4 in the morning.. well the forest was just as nice as always.

Sunday i spent reworking the wires for the winch controls as i melted them on my first go... they where dimensioned JUST to keep up.. now i have added the 2.5 factor... which i should have done in the first place 1999 TD5 "M2 Registered" 110" STW

Ignition switch started to fail just the second the truck had seen the mechaninc..It was possible to start but you needed the right touch.

Going for a pay and play day friday i wasn´t going to let the ignition switch ruin that.. So new one ordered, but not soon enough, the part was on its way, but had to borrow the part from a friend so we can get going.
As i didnt find any good pictures i thought i would make some.. But as always the things start biting back and then you forget Rolling with laughter

Out with the dash

Remove the rubber gromets, and the 4 screws holding the plastic around the steering wheel

Remove snap bolts on the bottom (wait what snap bolts) some one did this before me... and left out the snapbolts... (glad i ordered new ones.. (which is in the mail)

Note the wiring before disassembley

As soon as i touch the switch it popped of the ignition barrel, so there was the fault

Remeber the take out the 2 screws on each side before trying to pry the switch out Embarassed

Refit in backwards order and go for a test drive..

Where we meet a kindred spirit (no owner around but parking rules applied)

Had a few days of to go see the tinderbox music festival (thursday) and off to Land Rover Experience center Denmark for ½ days course (new car and offroad)

Loaded up the bikes for the Tindebox festival (easyer then walking from the parking lot to the festival grounds)

A great festival with loads of acts (Depeche mode, Iggy Pop, Alex Vargas (DK) and some electronic acts.)

Friday we drove to Land Rover Experience center and had ½ days course, mostly because we need some knowledge about the 110" TD5 as an offroader, we both (GF and I) had v8 manuals before.

Saturday we had a great outing/greenlaning with the Scouts from Klan Rover
Loads of tire kicking and comparing builds.

A Sunday well spent... As my boss earlier this year choose to suspend my vacation plans due to project implementation i just had to drive my scouts to the canoeing site for their summer camp.

10 Scouts in the back of the truck Very Happy
Arrived a the site and ready for the next step

Next step was to tow ½ the canoes to the dropsite, and then go back with my mates 110" to the start point and then lift him to the dropsite again..

On my way home i meet a few interesting things.

Purely for the adventure style.. A nice setup with an old land cruiser and another canoe

This is british all the way.. a 2 story auto trailer, 2 Race spec Minis and Range Rover Sport...

Another weekend well spent. Went to pickup the scouts i set of last weekend. But jumped the gun and went a day early.

Tracked some gravelroads for gravelmap.com and spottede som good sleeping sites.

Didn´t find the perfrect sleeping site but almost.

In sweden there is almost "free" camping anywhere in the forests, as long as you don´t stay more then one night and stay more than 200m away from houses or buildings.

Breakfast in the tent and on the roofrack is a treat Smile

Back home we didn´t have enough yet, so the tent went up in the garden.
For a test night of 3 sleeping in the tent. My girlfriend, me and my 5 year old.

On monday we went to copenhagen zoo.. Where some bright playground designer had a bright idea og digging a land rover in the playground.
