Can I reset eml without plugging in
2011 has gone into limp but is otherwise running well and sounds good and has no temp issues. I’m a fair way from home and destination. Landrover assist on way but over an hour away.
Is there a secret sequence of key turning etc that would reset it

If turning off and on doesn't work, I think you have to disconnect the battery for a few minutes to cause a reboot.
Land rover assist should sort you out though.

Sadly no, if the problem is persistent it will keep generating fault codes.

Sounds like you will be on your way soon though?
Hope you get it sorted. Thumbs Up 80" 80" 86" 88" 90"

A local garage was sent to me and reset the eml. We both looked for leaks on the induction as it was a pressure differential at the MAF That was triggering the light. None found.
He followed me while I pushed it hard up a big hill and it didn’t come back on.

I continued to Darlington and then back to southport about 180 miles and it stayed off. I need to get something to be able to read and reset fault codes.
Does the bas remote remap thingy allow you to do this as I was looking at one.

I believe it does yes. As does the IID tool (the BAS tool is a rebranded IID tool) IID also does the remote remaps.

This happened again on Tuesday morning having pulled nearly a ton of wood home Monday no issues. EML back on and in limp.
Assistance came out and was brilliant.
However it came on again on the next journey.

The truck is now in the dealers.

The limp mode was cancellable by switching on and off the ignition once
The EML was cancelled after three ignition cycles

It was coming back on at motorway speeds on longer hills. A MAF MAP correlation issue apparently. There was a slight hissing but at 70 in a defender hearing anything is an effort. Let’s see what the dealership say tomorrow.

A big thanks to Danny from landrover assistance who has now fixed my truck at the roadside 3 times. Top bloke.

Will do but don’t trust them but don’t have a choice as they have repaired so much no other dealers will touch it

Report from dealership is there is a leak on the inlet manifold to Head. They put a new head on three months ago so no surprise. Also a leak at the egr. Some new parts ordered not sure what and all will be sorted by Tueasday next week.

Update
Inlet and exhaust gaskets replaced
This has not completely stopped the leak and a new pipe from egr to manifold has been ordered as it is split. Apparently this will fix it🤔🤔. Collect tomorrow and thrash it to see if I can light the eml up on the way home.

Collected yesterday and duely thrashed. No eml. Invoice lists some sort of re-learn and end points. I presume this is to do with injectors. The girl on service reception didn’t know what it was.
I will get a BAS RRC and tune in the near future to let me se what’s going on under the bonnet.
