O/S side light and rear light not working after change
Changing my headlights to SVX lights with the side light in the headlight.

Wired up and checked and all worked fine with both SVX side light and regular side light on.

I then put a dab of solder on the connection but didn't check, put everything back together and the sidelights didn't work.

Stripped, took the solder off, put proper connectors on and still nothing.

When I put the lights on with the keys out, the side with the SVX doesn't come on while the side light on the other side does.

With the engine on, the headlight works but no side light. The rear light on the OS also doesn't work.

I haven't checked the fuses yet but could it be that? I'm planning on doing the other light tomorrow but don't want to end up with no rear or side lights.

Fitted the other light and no issues - everything works.

Checked the fuse for the side light and that's intact.

Stripped the connection on the light that doesn't work and just connected the side light - nothing.

Rear light also still not working.

So if the issue isn't at the connection, does anyone know what the side light and rear light share?

Sooo....went over all the fuses again and worked out the fuse diagram is upside down.

Found the shorted fuse. Replaced and it went as soon as I turned the lights on.

Not knowing anything about electric, why would this be happening?

Fixed...was touching something it shouldn't have been.

As a complete beginner I hope this helps others who are just learning about their cars.
