I am about to order this map with intercooler etc... do I need e-mail assistance to do it (ie, can I upload the map from the iid tool during the evening) or do I need to send and receive files by e-mail... I cant have my defender off the road during the day and dont want to mess it up at night trying to do the mapping and not be able to work the next day...

I work most evenings so can normally send the file in a short time. I do need ecu info from the car to be able to produce the file.

we also most evenings answer emails and web chat very fast.

Hi Pete which map (if any) so you think would be most suitable for my overland 2.2 130? I was thinking even if I get the 170 map I’m not going to be racing around, I just want a smoother ride when the car is fully laden with gear - be nice to be able to leave it in 3rd up steep hill near me Razz which I can do when unladen.

Also is it possible to revert back to the LR map via the IID tool if need be?

Thanks Smile

Hi

The 170ab is the better tune yes, with the custom firmware on the iid tool you will be able to revert the map on and off.

Germany 2016 Defender 90 Puma 2.2 SW Keswick Green

I finally had a larger intercooler fitted for my Defender last week and so I upgraded from 150bhp to 170bhp.

Having already enjoyed the 150bhp for several months, I have to say that the 170bhp tune feels even better.

Thank you Pete!

Who has the 150 or 170 map and what do you think of it? Obviously it’s more power, but does the truck feel very different to drive? Any drawbacks or unexpected limitations? I quite like the way the standard engine performs- not to say more go wouldn’t be welcome- but I wouldn’t want to change the ‘character’ of how it drives! 2014 Keswick Utility 2.2

I went straight from standard to BAS170AB with hi flow intercooler, so can't compare the 150 to 170.

But what I can say is the 170 is a total transformation. It does have more power and just pulls and pulls, but it's much more than that. The whole drive is smoother, more responsive, less gear changing, far less kangerooing at low speed. Highly recommend a remap even if you don't want more power. James
