Hardwoods Crawley don't know what light surrounds are
So I called up my local dealership Harwoods Crawley to ask for the price for a few seals. (which in the end I got cheaper from Dan at duckworths)

However while I was on the phone I was curious about the price of Santorini grill and lamp surrounds. The first guy on the phone was like, what? lamp guards? And I was trying to explain no the plastic backing that goes round the light. He never did work it out so handed over to his colleague. The colleague worked out what I was on about but his mind was boggled by the Santorini black part saying that no Land Rovers have Santorini black grills and light surrounds. He said he'd keep looking and give me a ring when he found them... He never did call back.

Never heard of a Santorini Grill sir. Asda, next door have the George Foreman grill in stock and it's on special offer, and its available in black.

My Land Rover went to Harwoods for body damage, they couldn't source the decals etc
Called Thatched Garage who got them and they all arrived in Harwoods packaging, you couldn't make it up

Used to work down the road from hardwoods cralwey, so enquired about a couple of parts.

They didn't really know anything about some, and the ones they did, the price they quoted was near triple everywhere else!

doesn't surprise me. before I bought my first defender I asked the sales man at one of the LR dealerships what the clips were for at the front of the front seats ie seatbox.

and the response was 'nothing - just the way they're built'.

just as well I didn't ask where the battery was as I suspect I'd have been told 'under the bonnet'?

That reminds me of an accident I was in with my old 90. Water fairies called by Police who on arrival do the usual thing to all vehicles involved, disconnect battery. My wife and I watched as four of them struggled to open the bonnet of the 90 then stand stunned that they could not see the battery. Don't make old people mad.
We don't like being old in the first place,
so it doesn't take much to Censored us off.
