I’m running a 120w flexible panel on the roof of the roof tent connected to a DC to DC Intervolt split charge that has a MPPT solar charge controller built in. Display shows charge from the panel

@ Voorfrank,

Have you found that to be a reliable and "safe" location for the panel. General temperature cycling from the motor and simultaneous maybe very harsh cold on the outside and very hot on the underside etc not been an issue?

It's a neat use of space Thumbs Up

Cheers

My vehicle is wired for a solar panel apparently but one of the PO's drove away with it on the roof and broke it apparently Whistle
I'd like to get a replacement, I see Maplins do a 30w flexible panel, would this be useless?

To steal the panel, will need a knife or wire to cut the Sikaflex trough. It will be a time consuming job. It is easier to steal the bonnet.
The temperatures from the engine are less than from the sun in the mediteranian areas. I know the resistance rises when temperatures rise but it is only very little.
For our Waeco CFX it works good.
We also have a foldable panels for times we park in the shade http://www.lensunsolar.com/Foldable-solar-kit

Managed to find a 69w suitcase on eBay just down the road so decided this was the way to go.
