2x300w Bestek inverters
Hi all, this is a bit of an amateur electronics type question - I've acquired two identical 300W inverters and wonder if I could combine them in series or parallel to get more wattage, or if I'd need an extra battery, and if so, could I keep two batteries charged simultaneously from the vehicle alternator, or would I have to change them over regularly. Anyway, maybe better to get a 24V inverter and two batteries, but that leaves me with the same conundrum. All thoughts gratefully received, cheers, Jonathan

Hi Jonathan.

No harm in connecting both inverters to the same battery, although with that kind of power draw you'd need the engine running to stop it going flat quickly. This would give you 2 sockets at 300w each.

If you need more than 300w at one socket then you'll need to sell those and buy a 600w or bigger inverter.

There are lots of threads on here with really good advice regarding dual battery set ups including the various ways to charge both from the one vehicle alternator. Just pop 'twin batteries' or 'split charge' into the search box Thumbs Up Now: 2010 2.4 TDCi 110 Utility Wagon
