What size?!
Hi all,
I’m currently running a set of all terrain koala 4x4 tyres on 16inch rims, but they look too small and are affecting the speedo, they’re currently 235 70 r16, on a defender 90 1990. What size should I have to fit my speedo and what size would people recommend using for the best mileage handling etc.

The size you need is either 235/85 or, possibly, 7.50 x 16 if you're using standard steel wheels.

If you're using standard LR alloys then 265/75 is also a common size.

I think the difference in mileage between the sizes would be marginal, at best. Tread pattern is likely to make more of an impact but even that won't be huge. Darren

Looking to get alloys instead of steels so I guess it’ll be 265/75 then

265.75R16 or 235.85R16 for alloys on your tdi would work well. both near as the same OD, one set just 30mm wider. Cheers
