Dashboard mods
I'm about to take my entire dash out to fit an AirCon and I was thinking about other mods and things I could do at the same time. I'm also going to install a reverse camera monitor on the dash down by the gear sticks so I was wondering what cool mods people have done to their dashes, and if there are any other jobs I should do whilst having the dash out.

Off the top of my head, a couple of bits worth doing with the dash removed are adding a second washer jet and swapping the wiper relay for the VW type that gives intermittent wipers, i've also added a common earth for various accessory switches, usb ports etc so it's often worth adding a multicore wire or bunch of wires from the battery box into the dash area so you can add future switches without having to remove the entire dash.

Depends a little on the model and age but i would definitely remove and at least clean/grease the wiper mechanism or better still replace the spindles and rack. 02' 110 TD5 Double Cab Rebuild Thread

Add another 12v socket.
X-eng column lock.
Route wiring or condition for later installation of Bluetooth mic for head unit or switches for work lights at rear etc...

All great ideas!

I have new window washers already somewhere in the shed, didn't think about that so they will be installed.
Some Dynamat won't go astray either.
Running some cable for later use is also a great idea!

Whilst the dash is out, it's well worth going over the outside with a hosepipe and see if there are any minor leaks coming in.

As for the extra cables, if you have the space then run a length of conduit down from behind the radio to the transmission tunnel, it makes it much easier to poke cables through if you want to add more at a later date. 2005 Td5 110 Hardtop

As already stated - wiper mechanism (refurb of replacement) and conduit and or spare loom for future mods.

Best of luck Thumbs Up
