TD5 Dash Bulbs - LED or Not.
So i am pretty much down to a handful of bulbs in the dash. Not sure what happened but they are very old and I guess reaching the end of their collective lives. I bought some cheap led bulbs but true to the old adage of you get what you pay for they do not fit, just too big.

The bulbs in the TD5 dash are;

    Speedo 509T 509T 12v 1.2w
    Gauges and heater switches 286 wedge type 12v 1.2v x5

Who has what? Led versus standard

Fancy posting a photo of your dash lit up?

Does anyone know what the bulb is in the hazard switch?

Any kits out there?

Can't help with the hazard build as I haven't got around to doing my switches yet but after seeing graftys dash thread I changed mine to LED and love it. Only down side is the clock bulbs don't just swap like the rest. I just typed defender td5 led dash bulbs into eBay and one seller had kits in different colours. Ray

I've also done the LED thing (also eBay but a different seller) and I'm pleased with the result. I still need to dismantle the clock to boost its illumination to match though. STC1205 is the hazard light switch lamp - it's a tiny thing. Mine died after 15 years so it's now on #2.

One tip on the LEDs - get white (not green). The green versions make the orange & red gauge areas look brown.

Has anyone dismantled the clock to fit the LED? Any idea how to go about it? I did have a look but didn't spend too much time on it.
