Dash Screws
Has anyone ever worked out the sizes of screws you need for the dash?

I have 1 or two missing and I am sure the DPO has just used some random screw in some places. I note some have a wide head so not just your standard screws.

TD5 Pre-Facelift dash btw.

At some stage I bought a box of various sized 'blackened' self-tappers - the kind that are used all around the dash. Halfords maybe, or a local 'industrial supplier'.

I must admit I opened your topic because I was tinkering around the dash recently, and some of these screws are worse for wear now. They hold OK, but they're rusty. I started thinking about getting them in stainless steel, like I do with most of the non-load bearing fixings.

So, to answer your question, I don't know the specific sizes, but a box set would see you right.

Anyone gone stainless with these?? Donald

Had some of my dash out yesterday doing a wee job. Some screws are pozidrive and some are Phillips head. Some are self tapper type and some are machine screw type. Most are size 2 Phillips or pozi but some are size 3. I really do imagine that no two Landys will have 100% the same selection of screws in the same places - so just fit whatever you have wherever it looks like it’ll go. Thumbs Up

So,
Cowl Instrument Binnacle

11 AD606044L Self tapping, Screw No6 x 1/2
14 AB606044L Self tapping, Screw No6 x 1/2
7 AB608051L front plate to dash,Bolt,black,Self tapping,No8 x 5/8

It is odd as the 14 & 7 look the same length and the 14 is the longer. Looking at the drawing.
