Thanks, I thought they were and presumably in shot grey, which is exactly what I've been looking at for a while now so guess I'm just going to have to pull the trigger Mr. Green

Just noticed this post and it is a strange coincidence, I changed my gearbox oil on the same day as you and although I didn't have to use a jack on a spanner i did have to use a much longer breaker bar (3 feet long) on the socket than I expected for a drain plug that's only supposed to be tightened up to 30 Newton meters, maybe, over time there is some chemical locking of the steel drain plug to the alloy casing or maybe the same gorilla serviced both our Land Rovers previously Rolling with laughter great series of posts and many happy days of motoring with Alan.

[quote="Profyaffle"]That you Clayton... Thats what I had in mind when I ordered the cables.. I use a 175 to 50 adaptor to connect direct to my jump start power pack..

I had a slot cut out of the seat base for the heated seat wiring so I just widened that a tad and tucked the socket behind the seat, the adaptor is plugged in that with a cap on and tucked up in the corner out of harms way.

Can I be a pain and raise a word of caution regarding cutting access holes in your battery box lids, some of the pictures appear to show the jump cables coming out of the gearbox cover, which presumably means the cables come sideways out of the battery box then up through the gearbox cover, this seems to me to be OK but some of the other pictures seem to show cables coming directly out of the battery box, my concern here would be that in the event of an unfortunate rollover accident your passenger could get their delicate nether regions bathed in battery acid Big Cry

Thank you for pointing that out MGCarr.. I have cut a slot in my battery box cover.. I hadn't thought of what would happen in the event of an accident, my lid isn't secured either.. I shall put it on my list of jobs to secure the lid better. 1993 200Tdi Defender 90

Hello Procta..
No updates.. I've been busy with other things unfortunately so just been driving around.. I have a new battery to fit as i have to jump start after not using Alan for a few days especially when its very cold.. but other than that he's running great.
I also have some Bulldog wheel spacers to fit which I will do when I have got time and I aren't full off cold Rolling Eyes 1993 200Tdi Defender 90

Well it's been a long hard winter what with one thing or another but spring is finally here.. or will be after a snowy easter Laughing

I fitted some Bulldog spacers earlier in the year and found with the road salt and nastiness of the roads that my door windows soon became opaque and difficult to see through with the additional spray up the sides from the wheels.. Grafty pointed me in the direction of the dirt defender and I colour coded and fitted them today... I also took the opportunity to fit a snow cowl.... I know.... its a bit late... Iv'e fitted it with a homemade gasket and it just needs a bit of buffing with the polisher to finish it off.. ...
