Nolden Generation 1

We have managed to get hold of limited numbers of the clear chrome Noldens. We were told initially that we would have to have an eye-wateringly huge number of them if we wanted them making again. But Nolden have found a few sets which at the moment are on a pallet on a DSV lorry somewhere between Germany and here and should arrive early next week. Lots of people have asked us about the chance of getting hold of Gen 1 Noldens since we sold out so, if you were one of them, now is your chance. Not only that the grumpy old git must be getting festive because he has said we will do them at a special price of £495 until the clock strikes 12 on New Year's Eve.

South Africa 2009 Defender 90 Puma 2.4 SVX Station Wagon Santorini Black

I think I am cutting it pretty close?
BUT
Is this deal still up for grabs?

I just want to ask, the photo that's on your site show a smooth bottom half of the bowl, but the pictures that I find online has a textured look to it. Sorry if I am not explaining it very well.

Was there two different types other than Gen 2 with DRL included?

This offer is only open until mid night tonight.

The Generation 1 Noldens in clear chrome were fitted by Land Rover to the final special editions of Defenders.

These are the same as we have bought.

Generation 1 Noldens were available in clear chrome, dark chrome and matt black, with and without position lights. (position lights is a parking light and not a driving light)

The only Generation 1 Noldens for RHD/LHT UK specification that are available from 4x4overlander are the clear chrome ones without position lights.

To the best of my knowledge these are the only ones currently available.

Generation 2 Noldens are available in clear chrome, dark chrome and matt black and they have a DRL built in. Currently all in stock at 4x4overlander.

All the Nolden LED headlights carry the full genuine APPROVAL mark and so are road legal.

If you wish to take advantage of this offer best to get onto the 4x4overlander webshop before midnight tonight.

Highly recommend them. Thumbs Up Watts ÷ Volts = Amps.
Amps X Volts = Watts

Thank you for the info Brendan,

I am torn between the Truck Lites, that I already have with me but haven't mounted yet or the Noldens Gen 1 for my SVX.
I guess the Noldens will have a more LR look and would suit the LE like the SVX better.

Does anyone have any photos of "silver" SVX style grill with Gen 1 Noldens?

No contest IMO, the only best two to compare really are are Nolden and Speaker.
But, personal choice. Watts ÷ Volts = Amps.
Amps X Volts = Watts

It was definitely on the webshop at £495 as we have several sets going out on Tuesday, why it has been taken down early I do not know.

Simple solution is to send a nice pleasant email to barbara@4x4overlander.com and I am sure that she will look kindly on people if they do it relatively promptly. What does relatively promptly mean? Lets just say in next 24-36 hours of me posting this.

Being an electrical dunce, I was just wondering whether these (or any) LED headlights drew less current than the standard items, which could lead to increased durability of the headlight switch?

Thank you for being so accommodating,

I would just like some clarification regarding the Bi-LED versions with and without Position lights please.
Sorry if I am being an idiot here, Whistle

Which model did LR mount, with or without position lights?
I am only asking, as I have a SE and have no position light on the side, its incorporated into the headlight.

Is there any visual difference between these two or would you say they are identical on appearance?

Hi Pygar, the Generation Noldens we have do NOT have position lights built into them so I am sorry they would not be suitable for your vehicle.

I am guessing that vehicle regulations/'MOT' in South Africa are roughly in line with Europe.

In appearance there is very little to distinguish between the ones with and without position lights. I very much doubt that a casual observer would be able to tell the difference.

Pickles.

Yes, over halved the current load from standard incandescent bulbs.
But still not down to under 300mA, like a Relay coil that a headlight loom reduces the Switch load to.

But, just LED headlights does indeed reduce the load a lot, but with a loom as well is best of all.
