R.I.P Sony
Had the 110 near on 2 years now & put a Sony single din head unit in it within the first week of getting it. Had nothing but problems with it & now it has gone altogether! It’s been the worst upgrade / down grade we’ve done to the 110 & now we are in the market for a new one.
Question is which one? Needs to be a modern phone / Bluetooth / music streaming unit. So what’s stood the test of time & is easy enough to use ( without having a degree from NASA that is?)

Sony as a brand is certainly not what it used to be.
They used to be desirable, well made, innovative products. Quality seems to have been thrown out in a quest for low price.
I can't remember the last time anyone raved about them.

Panasonic went the same way. I had 2 prematurely expired home DVD players from them, but now won't touch the brand ever again.

In car head units seem to be particularly short lived these days. Alpine also doesn't have the reputation it once had, but mine's been OK for 2 1/2years, just the standard fit one.

I'd also like to know what is well made and lasts.

I’ve been very happy with my Pioneer single din. I can’t recall the model number, but it’s mechless as I don’t have any CDs, pairs well with my phone and streams music, podcasts etc. Buttons are a bit small and the display is the basic figure 8 lcd type, but they are all like that unless you pay top dollar. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

im a kenwood fan.you have a stereo for every price range. simple to use and long lived in my defender and works vans where the drivers don't treat them gently.

the better ones have adjustable colours and more options. Bluetooth is good and you can integrate them to most regular stereos with a patch lead. just done that in our sprinter all you lose is the merc dash display but steering wheel buttons work once more.
