Water on fuse box
My day on Response ended when the Defender was stopped and then would not restart in Hazlemere at 5:30 pm on Sunday. After checking electrics it was pointing to a problem with the electronics of the immobiliser. After a very long wait for the RAC I got a tow home from one of the other drivers on response.
More checking this week has revealed that good fuses had been blowing on reinsertion. This killed supply to alarm and starting circuit.
But why? Well I have found water at the back of the fuse box on the bulkhead. It is causing short circuits. Any thoughts on where it is coming from? So I can stop the ingress. It is not washer fluid as it does not contain de icer. 1995 Defender 110 CSW

I had something similar on a 1996 300 tdi 110, the water was coming in via the Vent Seals, new seals resolved the issue, my wipers would start on their own, couldn't turn them off, the back of the Fuse box was very damp with water running down the bulkhead. NormanD WE191

Cheers to both of you. Mine is a 1995 so I will check on seals and do a review on manual. 1995 Defender 110 CSW

Thanks Dylan. Jon the EPLO towed me back. Had the vents off today and top of seals were misaligned. I have moved them and restuck them. So will test once it is a bit warmer. 1995 Defender 110 CSW
