The original Disco used many BL parts, mostly from the Maestro van such as the rear lights and door handles. Apparently this was because there was so little money for development and tooling for the new vehicle that every penny mattered.

Yeah Rover had a habit of reusing old parts. The Rover metro used the maestro/montego fuse box and the hubs, Most of the rover metro ended up been used for the mgf.
I read that they used the floor pan of the freelander for a Rover 75 4x4 concept car years ago. Smile Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

The Jaguar x-type was basically a Mondeo. Running gear, engine and a lot of the electronics. The V6 Jag is basically a AWD ST220 Thumbs Up 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

Looking under the shell, my previous assumptions were correct. The rear shell is pretty good and the front is poor. Thinking of welding the obvious bits and then getting the shell blasted. Any thoughts? 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

Made a little bit of progress today. Kept getting distracted Embarassed

Needs a really good clean up but a good base to start with.

I then split the engine and box so I can work on the engine easier. Could really do with an engine stand but haven't got the room to store one. Hence working on the crane (not ideal).

And finally stripped off the engine mounts and sump so they could have a spruce up Smile

RCP applied. Will get the top coat on tomorrow and then get the engine in hopefully Mr. Green 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon
