Amazon Dot Bluetooth connection to my Alpine INE-W923R
I have easily managed to get my Amazon Dot to work in my Defender by adding in car wifi, and I know that I should be able to connect to the AUX3 by cable but this means I would have to remove the headunit and I am hoping to connect the Dot to the Alpines Bluetooth, do you think this is possible and if so how?

You should be able to do this via the Amazon Alexa app. I have it running music to my av amp via Bluetooth so should be similar.
