Rear speakers (first installation) don't work
Hello everybody,
need your help, please:
I have installed in my Def 110 SW mod year 2012 (2.2 puma), an HU Alpine 196 DAB + rear speakers Alpine SPG 13 C2 (130 mm diam.) where no one was, and so have drilled rear panels and connected to speaker connectors, but no sound from them.
Connectors were plent of dust but after sprying specific cleaner spray no resolution.
The HU works well with front speakers, and so imagine connections are correct......

Any suggestion?

THX

You’ve probably checked this already, but is the fader setting on your Alpine radio set to front speakers only?

You will need a Multimeter. Thumbs Up

Plus check connection plug behind radio, you will need to Dom this to continuity check anyway. Diesel$ Live$ Matter. ⛽ï¸ðŸ›¢ï¸ðŸ‘¨â€ðŸ”§ðŸ§°âš™ï¸ RED, WHITE & BOOST! 🇬🇧

Ok this evening I'll buy a multimeter amd make the test.... Very Happy

But nobody knows if DEF models without rear speakers yet mounted have some little trick to solve as mine (disconnected cables or anithing else)?

If it has the wires at the back of the vehicle, make sure the same coloured wires are in the plug at the back of the stereo. If they are at the back of the stereo and connected to the stereo wiring then as said above you'll need to check for continuity as there must be a break somewhere. Ray

The front wires are normally present but hidden under matting towards the front but not connected.
The other end is present at the rear speaker locations, my guess is they are not connected at the rear of your HU on the audio output plug.

Your guess is right!! The rear speaker wires arrive until under the passenger seat and there are interrupted at the junction between the chassis and main harness; so I made extensions of the four wires until the dashboard behind the stereo facia panel...
At the edge of every wire jointed a female ISO terminal to insert into the connector C0092 at slots 1,2,7,8, but it seems cavities are not able to receive these terminals... Banging Head Banging Head Banging Head Banging Head Big Cry Big Cry Big Cry
... And now?

Make sure that you have slid the Yellow terminal locking bar out of the connector housing first.

With this in place, you can't insert or release the terminals. Paul.

There's a Yellow terminal locking bar that slides into the side of the factory (Tyco) ISO connectors.

Shown here on a new connector, in the 'open' position -

And here, removed from the connector housing -

This Yellow locking bar needs to be in the 'open' position (or removed) before terminals can be inserted or released from the connector housing. Paul.
