South Africa 2010 Defender 90 Puma 2.4 SW Alpine White
not sure how I missed this symptom: if I open the throttle and keep it constant, the revs drop to idle and then slowly try to climb back but never reach the original revs.

the revs drop faster when the engine is cold than when warm, but it happens in either situation.

does this make the diagnosis any clearer? --

2007 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 XS CSW Java Black
Update - wagon scanned and although still showing egr issues (due fir replacement) it was also showing over / under boost. Ran two bottles of forte turbo cleaner through it and not experienced lumpy idle or hunting for revs since. Still running super diesel or millers additive where possible but fingers X!
