Not sure about optomil...but this is the one i use and i think matt at fcx doesnt do the leather stuff anymore...exmoor trim do a thin boss for the defender and you can attach this...

As above Matt at FCX no longer does the leather bits, shame as I have a 2nd hand FCX one and it is lovely!! The FCX one is made by Snap On, if that helps.

I was about to say try Optimill for a nice slimline quick release, but surprised you say they have pulled it?? I saw it wasn't on their website the other day but just assumed it was out of stock. James

If you want some leather bits done JF-Customs (ebay username) do some pretty decent work, not on the same level as FCX but it is quality leather and a lot cheaper. They did a fair few bits on my 90 which came out rather well, I'm sure they could knock up a shroud/cover for a boss!

One thing I don't get about the boss kits available is some of them just do not need to be so thick! Mines from Bolt on Bits as it was the slimmest available at the time, but its go so much unnecessary metal, all it needs is the spline to the right depth, space for the retaining nut and threaded holes for the steering wheel to attach.

look at exmoor trim their boss is one of the thinnest i have seen !Twisted started them off in the slimness stakes then others copied their version ..i take that back .."were inspired by twisted version"! Rolling with laughter its a dog eat dog landy world with lots of folk being inspired by others efforts!
