Santorini headlight surrounds and grill
I had mine painted professionally and the headlight surrounds have chipped and have worming coming under the paint so looking to replace them.

Has anyone purchased the BritPart ones, the genuine LR ones or have a decent paint shop?

Looking to see what option is best to pursue.

Thanks

Hi,

I bought my grille + headlight surrounds from Paddocks which I think are Brit part.
I've had no problems and I think they were about £180 all in but not overly sure as i've had them over 2 yrs.
I think the genuine LR grille was more than that on its own
Where abouts are you in Essex as you're welcome to come and have a look at mine or meet up if you want + see what you think of them "in the flesh"

Thanks - thats good to hear!

Mine didnt really last a year and 2k miles and now done 2 years and about 5k miles on.

The grill is has about 3 chips but one sorround is terrible.

Glad to hear to have positive reviews on the BritPart set.

The strounds are about £120 a pair or £150 for LR ones, then a full BP set like yours is £180 so got to choose whwre i go.

If yours are standing up to the job then i think i will go that route.

How are they for stine chips?

Im based near the Dartford bridge if you are not too far away

No painted parts will stand up to stone chips, I'd take them to a decent bodyshop to sort out. Ray

I agree with mk1, the only paint that'll stand up to it are the bed liner type (Raptor..etc) 1993 200 Tdi 90 CSW

I bought a Britpart set for about £60 (all three parts), maybe even less, and had them painted by a local bodyshop quoted at £40, but he dropped it to £20 as the finish wasnt the best as he'd rushed it, but you can only tell when right up close.

Compare that to the price from a very competitive LR dealer for pre-finished parts

Front grille £220+VAT
Headlamp surrounds £45+VAT each

That was three years, and 38k miles ago and they still look pretty good.

Like MK1 and Kit say no paint will stand up to stones. Do you spend £100 or £400 knowing that at some point either way it will need re-finishing. 2007 - Stornoway Grey 90 XS SW - Gone
