Thanks but I meant the box posted by X4SPK. BTW in my one on page 1.2 the capacity for a MT62 is 2.2L which I thought was correct. Do you think they have corrected this edition?

The 2.2L is correct but it states to fill the gearbox until oil runs out of the filler hole, It says it's a "filler/level" plug hole. This is incorrect. If you fill until it runs out of the hole there will be too much in the gearbox. It also states to check the illustration 13.4. The illustrations on 13.4 are of the switches on the steering column. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

Received mine today. First impression is better than expected. Yes paper and photo's contrasts could be better. But contents seem useful to me and worth the £20 I paid. However, I would be willing to pay more for a better paper/picture quality.

Well, received mine last week.

Yes, quality not the top, the restoration one is way better.

Still, it could be useful as I'm quite new to the Defender.

As here we have quite a few knowledgeable people, why not start a sticky with all the errors spotted and corrections?

Got mine today:
Yes, paper and photos are not great. It is completely lacking in On-Board Diagnostics, something that should be an essential part of the manual for a vehicle like this. It does not even say where the OBD II port is. Some transmission sections are left out with a "Here Be Dragons" warning on them.
Still, at GBP16.54 in my hands, it's good value.
Regards

Its only good value is the content is correct!Somebody may speed read the transmission bit and use the fill hole as a level and overfil!....its a shocking error!.....not quite world ending but still disappointing!

As I said above, why not create a sticky listing all the errors found and corrections?

That would help a lot newbies like me. Thumbs Up

Hello Merlin...Sorry I missed this request... The 'picture' showing the Oil Capacity was taken from the Defender Owner's Handbook, (so not out of the Haynes Manual Exclamation ) There are two references to Capacities for the Transmission in the Handbook...

Just be careful with it and don't take everything it tells you as gospel. There are some errors regarding the Puma engine that don't make sense and its only when you cross-reference with the actual Workshop Manual that you find that they are talking about the TD5 Engine. There could end up being some very costly mistakes made for the uninitiated!

Thanks smb. Just got mine today and reading through. I’m a newbie on engines, only touched bodywork and basic electrics so thanks for the warning.
