I saw one today. Quite a beast. Any Anoraks out there know what it is? (Not a field with stones.....)

Yes, this was a flatbed used by a coal yard. I was told the Stonefield was part of the same tender as the FC101 and we know who won that one! Different though, an auto box and funky 60/40 split of power.

I used to drive one of these in a previous job approx 25 years ago, it was the smaller engined one, the 3 litre ford V6, they were all automatic i believe thats what went against them for the mod contract, it was a better vehicle to drive on a daily basis compared to a 101, they were also very good off road as they had torsen diffs.
they were made at Cumnock in Ayrshire a few miles from me, there is a guy in the area has a couple in various states of repair one of his is in a museum at the moment it was a fire tender at Barra airport. nobody is perfect but being Scottish is a start
