After the peterbourlgh landrover show we have added to the camper - now the proud owner of a swing round 270’ awning from Tuff-Trek complete with the sides,

as well as buying 3mm black and lined wing mounted checker plating for poppy as I miss them for standing on.

Bumper has been shot blasted, galvanised and sprayed up in black gloss to match the other back parts of the vehicle.

Today I reconnected the day light running lights and added 2 more sockets to the undercuby box - its great to have the power supply feeding into the area for the heater so that I can make use of it to feed the sockets, I also added an on off switch to turn off the feeds when I am not using the vehicle as the 2 usb sockets have blue light feed and this will drain the battery if not driven regularly.

The heater has its first proper use and its great. very quite compared to the previous one. Thumbs Up Poppy - TDCI (Puma) 110XS 2.2 - Camper conversion - see the build here - https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic56530.html

update - November

Fitted a set of general grabbers on the 110 for the trip to Germany later in the month - Wow - they are SOOOOO much Quieter than the wranglers ! I’m not a fan of the Grabbers but will be getting some BGF’s ATR’s when I’ve completed all the camper refit. (Thanks to ‘Driver’ and 'Davidej' for the tyres and wheels)
I like the look of the Wranglers but the noise for long distance is excessive even for me, this weeks run up from Cornwall to Heathrow was a very different drive.
I’ll pop the wranglers back on for the winter though as I think they may be better than the grabbers in bad weather.

All the rear seats are now out of the 110. The 3rd row seats out and ready for sale if any one would like them (see separate post on that)
2nd row seats are out and safely stored away for fitting when needed again when not camping.

Extended the sub-footer cable but need to do some diagnostics as the thing isn’t working ... so that will be a nights play sorting that out.

New wing checker plates fitted and look very good - 3mm is the way to go !!

Loaded up all the things we need to take for the fitting of the internal units in Germany, so have a load space empty of seats but now full of cooker, potty, sleeping bags, chairs and the awing sides all ready to go - where did all that space go! Poppy - TDCI (Puma) 110XS 2.2 - Camper conversion - see the build here - https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic56530.html

What flavour of Grabbers do you have? Some of them (definitely AT2) are winter rated and so would be better than the Wranglers. Darren

Hi Daren - the grabbers are TR and yes are winter rated but the Wranglers are MTR and snow rated too .. the Grabbers are a bit older then the Wranglers and don't have as much tread so think the Wranglers will be a little better in the winter mush .. Poppy - TDCI (Puma) 110XS 2.2 - Camper conversion - see the build here - https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic56530.html

In Germany having just had the internal units fitted and all done in less than 4 hours from arrival to drive away.
https://www.landy-ausbau.de/?site=build_complete

The fitting required all the seat fittings need to be removed then the bottom boards locate onto the protruding bolts.

Lower parts in place

All the units are secured onto the board or thought the wheel arch.
I am informed that the whole set up can be removed in about an hour and then the original seats re-fitted.

We left the workshop and drove to a quire place where all the kit we carry was then organised and neatly put away.
Job done !

Next stop was an overnight sleep in the german forest, which was fine, except our extra wide sleeping mats are too wide for both to fit on the bed board, - not a major problem as we slept fine each night but something to work on for the next trip away.

The sleeping bags and mats are in the floor well next to the units - (will take set of better pictures of the bed board and table set up later. )

Now we are touring the war sites in Yippes and have given the 110 a good shake down and a few tweaks with packing and all is good !

The heater is awesome !! works very very well and is quite, used minimal power and fuel even though it was on a full 12 hours overnight.

more pictures to follow. Poppy - TDCI (Puma) 110XS 2.2 - Camper conversion - see the build here - https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic56530.html

driver side units - top is accessible from inside the vehicle too

the floor doubles as a bed board ... which gives a generous sleeping area for 2

it also doubles as a table .... !!( The metal supports are only used when fitting the floor board as a bed and are removed when in normal use )

we used it all for a week and found that the system worked very well. there is enough storage under the front units behind the drivers and passengers seats to store a high lift jack and other long things. Poppy - TDCI (Puma) 110XS 2.2 - Camper conversion - see the build here - https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic56530.html
