Had a go at wrapping..... Dirt defenders
Ok so dirt defenders are needed now my tyres stick out,

Fitted fronts and they are dull black so thought maybe spray to match car, anyway fitted them prior to holiday.

Then decided it needs rears and again maybe spray them but had an idea...

What's the view on carbon 'look'

So had a go....trick seems to be get the stuff warm with hair dryer and stretch. Very close a couple of tiny air bubbles although doubt you will see on car?

Will do other one and see what I think on car...

Sorry Chris,

It's a bit fiddly as I have the item to hold the the hair dryer Smile and as it cools you wrap the 'carbon' and pull it tight,

I've never done this before so was more than please. Not sure how what etc will stand up to it?

Mo I'm glad you like it Thumbs Up

Will aim to fit on the weekend so will update, if looks ok I will have to take my fronts off and so them.

My 90 has various parts wrapped (1st owner who had some work done then sold)
I wasn't sure about wrapping, especially on bits 'in the firing line' but 25K miles later
with no 'don't go there' treatment it still looks good.

Mine has the 3M Silver Carbon (which is very close to Stornoway Grey) so far mud, stones, and
'hedgerow scraps' are all OK. I suspect that the Vinyl would fair about the same as the paint if
subjected to sharp 'pin-point' impact...whilst the damage would look different, both would suffer.

I have watched this applied to reasonably complex surfaces...that at first you would think are not
suitable for a flat '2 dimensional' film...but with heat, careful stretching, and skill it works.

Not to my taste either, but a job really well done. I dread to think what it would look like if I tried. Thumbs Up

I'm about to try wrapping my bumper in a gloss black vinyl to give it a fresh lease of life. At £8 a roll of wrap its definitely worth a try

Porny had a carbon wrapped roof, I really liked it.

A 'mate of a mate' had his Audi wrapped in an iridescent colour a few weeks ago, he fell out with his missus and she 'keyed' it, front to back.
Bitch!

OK so fitted them and I like them over the standard dull 'look'
