yes mine had done 20k as well. It was a fairly quick and easy job as no need to mess with the pinion bearings. I have done 200 miles since I fitted mine and all good so far, got a couple of trips coming up will do the front when I get back. Actual worst bit for me was trying to lift the diff housing back into the axle whilst lying under the vehicle. DEFENDER 90 TDCI XS,

I hope everyone is well and your land rovers make you happy

Hi again,

Does anyone have more info on the relationship between big tyres (35") and ATBs?

Hi, as far as big tyres and ATB, i have 900r16 (34.5inch narrow though) and ATB on the front. No worries at all the diff is far more capable than you think. I also have ARB on the salisbury which i rarely use since the installation of the ATB. But i dont do challenge style off roading. As for tarmac a little return to center tendency which goes away after 1k miles nothing to worry about believe me. Indtallation is straight forward videos and torque settings available from aschroft site.I think you wont be dissapointed.

Yeah, I hope so. Those things weren't cheap, a single air locker would have been much less, since I already have onboard air installation.

But they were a much easier investment to justify with the wife (it's our money after all). They're always on and contribute to on road safety

Hi all,

Been using the ATBs front and rear since last friday.

Very pleased with them on the road, car feels much more stable and the return to center feel is very nice. My steering wasn't awful, but the taller suspension and -25mm offset rims weren't helping. It now feels fantastic.

Very little offroad for now. The track I was using for testing was closed this weekend, so had to resort to some easy trails close to home.

A sand pit which used to cause me some trouble is now doable like it's solid ground, to the point of being boring.
I can now drive diagonally against a nearly vertical hill and keep going to the point of lifting a wheel and nearly tipping over. Wheels used to start spining as soon as I was approaching the limit of suspension travel.

I managed, however, to get stuck in a severe crossaxle up a small hill...

Getting stuck in the cross axle going over the boulder got me a little worried. I tried to apply left foot braking the best I knew with no results.
This is not the kind of obstacle I usually do, but nonetheless was expecting more reaction from left foot braking.

Next weekend I'm going to a different obstacle track which has some nice deep axle twisters. That's more in line with the kind of stuff which used to stop me with open diffs.
If the ATBs or left foot braking fail to get me through then I might consider something different to the rear axle

Just came back from the obstacle track. It was partially flooded but fun as well.

I'm amazed by the diffs. They just work, even in severe axle twisters. When a wheel is really leaving the ground (you feel a shutter) simply touch the brake and there you go.

Sold, sold, sold
