Wiper problems.
Greetings.

I have an issue with my front wipers. They do not go back to the normal seating position if I turn it to the off position. It will stop a half second or so after I turn it off and it will stay where it is instead of going back down to the lower windshield position. What can be wrong? I was thinking the relay. If so, should I upgrade it to the one that people suggest from a VW? What is that part number? I'm in Canada, is there a part number from another vehicle that I can use that is sold in Canada,? Thanks again

Wiper motor park switch has packed up. Can be replaced fairly easily. This thread explains all! Thumbs Up

There's only one motor for the front wipers. On a LHD vehicle, it's located behind the RH end of the dash. It drives both wipers via a flexible spiral drive rack. The park switch will be the same regardless of which side the motor is mounted. Darren

Since you're opening the dash, you might as well replace the cable at the same time. Ours recently broke at 135k km, 20 miles from the harbour where we would board the ship to Iceland, so we had to source parts there. Unfortunately I forgot that I had a park switch with me and of course, that started to show wear 2k later.
