United Kingdom 1985 Defender 90 V8 Petrol ST Auto Keswick Green

I had my tax reminder this week, which means it's nearly 6 months of being on the road.

I've covered 1,380 miles with no breakdowns....barring the first 5 miles, running out of fuel Whistle

I've had one real niggle with it, the hoses from the auto to the cooler are weeping and I've got a new cooler waiting to go in, it'll be having all new lines and I'm hoping to get that done in the next couple of weeks.

As its a 'new' turnkey engine I've been over thorough with oil changes and I've got a Femco quick drain oil plug to go in (today's job). A worthwhile investment. This will make dropping the oil a breeze, with less (no) wear on the sump threads. I fitted one to the Puma a few months back.

I've decided to remove the NAS hood and go with something that's called a 'Surrey' top, this will be ordered next week.

It's also recently been used as a test mule for some new prototype parts from a well known supplier....more on this later.

The rear is now all knitted out with storage boxes, all lockable and will be handy for keeping things secure when parked at shoots and car shows, drag racing and comp safari events.

I like that there's a few 'not very heritage' parts on it, as well as being roller painted, always controversial (steampunk auto shifter, skate wheel transfer lever) let's see if you spot what else.

I was going to SORN it, but some days you just have to have a v8 pulling you along Cool

The mirror used to be a 'Cal-look' thing back in my V-dub days, so I thought it may be a little different for the 90.... With the sides rolled up on the hood it eliminates all blind spots. It's good for checking large breasted pedestrians out too, on both sides of the road Very Happy Scumbag.
