The only niggle is that there's a dink in centre strengthener of the tailgate which I'll have to get repaired. The load area is unmarked.[/quote]

Great find Thumbs Up maybe the dink is due to lowering the tailgate without the cables on and went down onto the tow hitch ? 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up. Keeper.

That's exactly right!

Bit of a nuisance really but I have a month to wait before the soft top kit arrives so I'll pop it into the paint shop to get sorted. 110 DCPU

I've been flat out at work, so haven't had a lot of time on my hands to fiddle with the Defender; however, I did purchase this quick 'mod' from a fellow forum member, via eBay, and am happy with the 'retro' result.

The rings fit quite nicely and I followed the tip to use a little AirFix glue to hold them in place - which I timed with building an AirFix Spitfire kit with Mini-Fox. Mr. Green

I have all the kit ready to be fitted....just waiting for a mate to have a space free in his garage so that I can work on it. My garage is too tight.

Fingers crossed it won't be long! 110 DCPU

Haven’t found it to be too much of an issue yet. I think the solid door frames and fact you’re protected from the most of the wind means the cabin doesn’t get too chilly. However, we haven’t really had a real cold snap yet; therefore, perhaps I’ll change my mind if it gets really cold!

With that said, I am fitting heated seats over the holiday season, so that should add another layer of protection from the chill. Wink

I'm sure it'll be fine, the Puma heater is either off or super hot so that and electric seats should cope with most winters! Enjoy James
