general grabber x3
Anyone tried these? They look a good potential option when I replace mine. Don't seem to be too pricy Whistle

I can't stand those things if that helps. They are cheap because they aren't very popular.
Just like an oversized road biased van tyre.

The General Grabber X3 is their new MT pattern, just out this year.
I think it will be a good tyre, if the reviews in the USA are anything to go by.

The GG AT2 also had a good reputation, not at all like the tyres that were standard factory fit on Defenders the TR.

You are referring to the GG TR, yes? I think the scrabbling and slipping must be due to inappropriate driving style. I have been using the GG TR for 9 years now, actually I bought my second set back in 2015, and I never scrabbled or slipped in the wet at all. But I obviously am a typical asphalt road driver. Laughing I also do like the looks of the GG TR, a much more classical look perfectly fitting the Defender styling than the later Conti which has been used.

The GG X3 is a mud tire, I don't have the need for those, but if the GG TR would not continue to be available in the future, I might change to the new GG AT3. Link below.

http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic49863....rabber+at3 You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.
