"Thatcher"?...Not many, if any, of you guys in Aussie.
Do you have plenty of work, maybe in view of the fact that people like to restore old buildings, keep them in good shape etc?
In Aussie, we don't have a lot of old buildings, many seem to be demolished, but being an old Pom I really do have an affinity with old buildings, country villages (Vowchurch) etc.

In the UK pickles, I think it depends on the area, Where I live the local council just tear down old buildings with out even bothering to think about it. We used to be a ship yard building town, we don't have anything now to show that we were once a ship yard builders, Everything is practically gone now sadly. We don't have a town hall either, that was tore down in the 1960s. Everywhere else likes of Newcastle and south shields still have their history. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

Thats a great shame Procta, that they keep taring history down like that, not good Sad

The history of old places, buildings and the like is kept really well in Devon, as if the council want to do something to a Building and the locals dont like it then they oppose it in a big way and about 8 out of 10 times they win, pickles Very Happy
The answer is yes Pickles, is that we have a lot of work on, we are currently only taking bookings for March 2019 Shocked we have over booked next year and the year is not long enough to fit it all in as we dont like turning work away Laughing 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up. Keeper.

L110CDL, we lost a lot of history to with the ship yards and our local brewery in the last 20 years. The latest thing that wound everyone up, was when Vaux brewery ( our brewery) closed down and the plant was tore! The grounds were waste land for years! Tescos had bought the land but couldn't get the planning permission to build a store or something on there, hence why it was just left. Now the council have decided to put a road through most of the land now, due to a new road layout and a bridge that again has took the place of a few old ship yard buildings. Sunderland hasn't really got much at all now, Nissan and rolls Royce are the really the only thing we have now. Nissan I have to say out of the two are the most mentioned, as I don't think rolls Royce plant does that much. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

Thanks for the heads up on that Procta Very Happy the council down here stopped the supermarkets a long time ago building these big ones and now we more of them but smaller and more of them which is good for competition with the prices and they can only build them if they build lots of houses and in some places you get the odd new school Thumbs Up 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up. Having seen the aftermarket trims (copies of genuine ones) I would recommend getting genuine ones and spray them black. The fit and finish will be far superior Thumbs Up 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

where can you get genuine items grafty? I have seen the headlinings on Ebay. My dads got a Lesaile item which looks ok but the fitment looks a little questionable. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back
