What Car Cleaning Stuff Do You Use?
Recently bought myself a Defender TD5 in Grey.

The paintwork is lovely so i'd really like to keep it that way, just after recommendations on best shampoo, polish and wax that people may use?

I see Halfrauds have a 3 for 2 offer on Meguairs stuff so failing any recommendations may just get some of their stuff?

I use Ultimate Snow Foam then power wash off.
I then hand wash with a good shampoo, can't remember the name at the moment, hand dry and then use Autoglym H.D. wax applied by hand to finish.
I keep away from using "polish" as much as possible as it's abrasive.

What is the paint like now, and is the vehicle garaged. These two points will have a bearing on what you do.
Like I've said before on this issue, don't go too complicated. A good wash followed by a good polish, can do wonders, depending on your answers to the two questions.

Hi Bear,

The paint seems really good, looks like it's been very well cared for or it's had a recent correction! No swirls or scratches etc. It's still clean as a whistle after a week 600 miles and a touch of rain also.

Just wanted to get all the right gear before washing this weekend really to prevent causing damage, I used to be up to speed with all this detailing lark then I've been out of it while.

Car is not garaged unfortunately.

Nice one, Laurie Very Happy

I believe, by the look of some Defenders round my way, you are not unique in your cleaning product of choice.

Mud. Much more advanced product than rain as it adds an extra layer of protection. Ed

Mud... Protection against what? Shocked Against a black steel chassis remaining a black steel chassis, but making sure it turns its color to brownish, and flaky at the same time? Rolling Eyes
Laughing You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.
