England 2009 Defender 90 Puma 2.4 HT Galway Green
OIL LEAK
Hi all , i have just found this oil leak on my defender transfer box is not coming from the big bolt but higher up i think any ideas photo attached thanks Richard

Best thing to do would be to get under there with some engine cleaner and clean it all up. That way after a bit of a drive you get get back under there to have a look and you should be able ot gauge how quickly it's leaking and where from.

What does the oil smell like? Gear oil has a distintive smell.

Best guess would be intermediate shaft O ring.

They can be changed without removing the transfer box totally. I started with nothing and still have most of it left!
