Canada 2000 Defender 110 Td5 XS CSW Epsom Green
td5 flawless performance and an exploding side mirror
Just returned home from a 2500 kilometre round trip to New Brunswick (Canada) since Sunday. Trip was great, comfy and quiet. My 78 year old mom joined me and loved the ride. We cruised at 110-120 all the way. Not one issue the Td5 did not skip a beat. This is the best Land Rover I've owned. All I've done to it is changed oil and fluids since I've owned it.

The one hitch was that east of Montreal on the highway a transport truck lost a ratcheting turnbuckle and it shot at me like a rocket. No time to swerve and it grenaded my passenger mirror. It exploded (literally) with bits of glass tinkling down the doors and side panels. Happy it missed the windscreen and my mom! Just wanted to show how great these trucks can be...

Be safe out there folks.

Like you say, good job it missed the screen!

I know the Defender is plagued with faults and niggles but they really are good old busses at the end of the day,
anything you buy with an engine will give you trouble one day, doesn't matter what badge is on the front.

I wouldn't be without mine Thumbs Up 80" 80" 86" 88" 90"

Wanted, Forward Control Anything considered.
