Audio expert required - which is the best.....
Simple question which is best for my Puma 90

Focal IBus 20 20cm Under Seat Active Subwoofer, 8" Active Bass Tube
http://www.roadradio.com/Focal/IBus-2.1/?g...7QodtEEBNQ

OR

Rainbow Intelli Sub 10 AFE 25cm Underseat Amplified Sub
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Rainbow-Intelli-...0794691483

I'm currently replacing the latter one of the two (Rainbow AFE) which was already fitted when I purchased the vehicle but it's blown and rattles like hell ! 2010 Defender 90 HT

I'd probably lean toward Focal.

Maybe take a look at the Kicker Hideaway too, that packs a punch of fits size. Thumbs Up Diesels Lives Matter. ⛽️🛢️👨‍🔧🧰⚙️

Thanks Steve... Thumbs Up Think you mean the Hideaway?

Have you got one? Be interested to hear from anybody that has got one or heard the quality compared to the focal or Rainbow subs Thumbs Up

I'm not looking to blow my windows out or anybody else's come to that! Just add some depth to the sound quality which at best isn't great without a sub 2010 Defender 90 HT

Can't offer a comparison but my focal is going strong and I work it hard. Ray

Yep, that's the one. Sorry about the typo. iPad does my head in sometimes. Rolling Eyes

You won't get OTT with an Active sub, but the more power the better depths of low base tone you can achieve.
I dint have one but I'm sure some members here have bought one at one time.
I have Kicker 1" tweeters and they are very good and 8" Passive Sub and Amp Diesels Lives Matter. ⛽️🛢️👨‍🔧🧰⚙️

You might want a look at a Phoenix Gold sub.
I used to sell a lot of Phoenix Gold a long long time ago.
I have one & I surprised how good they are.

I would suggest they are all pretty good- you need to make sure you have a really good power supply & that the sub is firmly nailed down. Then carefully adjust your cross overs / low pass filters etc.
Finally don't use the sub controller as a volume control ( if you can help it)

I wish I could get excited about in car audio. I can see the point in a super quiet FFRR but in a Defender full of rattles, wind noise and whine from those MT's, I just don't see the point. If you want to hear proper music in a Defender then fit a V8. Defender 90XS SW
