Hello

Will try to get to a halfords not that easy for me though, I've tried it with key in all position and then engine on.


what do you mean by reset it and how do I do that?

I should have read your earlier post Thanks Thumbs Up

Will have another go myself checking the lead is in and try the reset. If not will try and get it to a car place such as Halfords to test the unit.

Also make sure the plugs are fully locked together, the male plugs havea locking tag which locks into the socket moulding.
It is removable but it's there to stop it coming out or coming loose.

Probably have got this sorted anyway though. Diesels Lives Matter. ⛽️🛢️👨‍🔧🧰⚙️

OK so I tried again Crying or Very sad I'm fed up of taking the radio in and out...

Tried the leads are connected well, they seem to be? tried with engine on etc moving the leads in case iffy connection.

Tried the reset button... a few times..

Then looking at back of head unit made sure this end was in correctly... this I did notice something odd (or maybe not?)

Two of the pins on the back of the head unit do not connect to a wire on the loom (in picture)

My next stop will have to be to get the unit tested... Neutral

Appreciate this thread is a year old but I came across it as I'm also fitting an Alpine CDE133BT to a 2007MY XS, replacing the standard LR unit.

I had precisely the same issue as the OP but having checked the voltages from the standard power plug, although the permanent live is there as expected, the ignition switched live in the standard plug is only 0.8v. This is sufficient to switch on & run the LR radio but the Alpine remains seemingly 'dead'. However running a piggy back from the 12v permanent live to the switched live on the Alpine, it switches on fine.

Obviously not a permanent solution, else the unit can be left permanently on with the ignition off (although with the removable fascia, this powers it down in any case) but thought I'd post this to help anyone else with the same issue as the OP (assuming they resolved it in the end!).
