Ah Mr Simpson, I hear what you say,.... if ya wanna be sensible!!, but there are several Defenders getting around with over 400HP, some with over 500HP.
There is a Land Rover specialist currently dropping one (LSA) into a 90 in Melbourne at the moment.
This stuff is absolutely financially out of my reach, but if ya've got the dollars, & you put in the correct everything else, suspension, driveline, brakes etc etc, and do it PROPERLY, then there's no reason why it wouldn't be very good indeed, as long as it's driven sensibly.
And I really do understand, that in the wrong hands, such a beast would not be good news.

That would be very close to the limit in terms of what engineer-able in Aus I believe, which I think is 3.5x the kerb weight in kg for forced induction. 1815 kg kerb weight for a Aus spec 90 gives you a fraction over 6350cc

Still I imagine it would be awesome!

Laughing To quote Pirelli, "Power is nothing without control"

Don't get me wrong, I will no doubt get mine tweaked a bit but the performance is more than adequate already! 2001 90 HT 6.0LS/6spdAuto.

LOL... given Pirelli's tyre performance in last years F1, the word 'control' is quite hilarious!!! Rolling with laughter YOLO... You Only Live Once...

Might as well ask, what are the "niggles"?

The first was the top vents on the dashboard (ie. pointing at your face) didn't work - sorted that as one of the cables was simply not re-attached.

Then last week I noticed the paint starting to peal off all of the wheels (even the spare!) so they are being re-finished by a company I know well as we speak / type!

It's a shame but I suppose these things happen and Twisted has been accepting of the costs incurred without a quibble.

May be worth checking the wheel carrier and any other colour coded items? Disappointing. 110 DCPU

The only issues is with the wheels, all the other painted parts are very good.

Normally you would powder coat wheels but in order to get the ideal colour match they decided to paint them in the body shop with a wet coat. It looks like when the tyres were fitted it rinkled the paint a tiny bit and then the slight movement of the tyre in the road wheels as made them start to peal......

It was done with the best intentions I suppose. My local people (I've used them before as I like changing the colours of wheels!) claim to be able to use a powder coat undercoat and lacquer with a wet coat between to achieve the colour match but still be hard wearing. We'll see how they get on!!
