My wife has 2 over 3 years as company cars... I drove nearly all of the 130,000 km we did on them!

Great vehicles, quiet, comfortable... but just for 2 really. The rear is cramped and the boot space is less than in my 90!!

Agree with the comments about the 'slow' auto transmission... but putting it into 'sports' mode helps that quite a bit!

Totally reliable, NOTHING went wrong with either vehicle. And good mpg too.

Overall, not a lot not to like really... Thumbs Up YOLO... You Only Live Once...

Like the external styling but have only ever driven one as a loan car from the dealers.

Interior is very cramped given the external dimensions of the car. Automatic gearbox is rather harsh in my mind, changes were not as smooth as the D4 (6 speed) and engine revs seemed high for the gear it was using but then again I am used to the 3.0 TDV6. One thing that really surprised me is how poor the fuel consumption is, it was only a couple of mpg more than I get from the D4.

Would I buy one? - no, but mainly because it doesn't meet any of my requirements for a car apart from the getting from A to B bit, it's not a tow car and I can't get 3 spaniels in the boot and 5 adults in the front/middle seats.

Would I have bought one if something like it had been around 15 years ago when I got my first Freelander? - yes, I probably would.

Horses for courses at the end of the day - if it ticks the boxes then go for it.

My other half got her Evoque yesterday red with the black pack, it looks very nice, a tad small inside but for just the two of us and occasional grandchildren I'm sure it will be fine.

Congrats. You know when you buy a car and it's perfect? I just discovered a bulb out. I can live with that.

It's an sd4 thing. Without the big alloys. It's immaculate 1 owner, which we decided to accept a lower spec for a mint car.
We saw a couple of higher spec cars for more money, but were honestly in worse conditions than some old Defenders I'd bought!
