I have recovered literally hundreds in similar situations. I worked beach patrol for a local authority. New boys couldn't understand why I always payed out the full 30m of tow rope until somebody did this to one of them.
If they didn't move on the first slow pull I usually handed the stuck driver a spade and sat back for half an hour. Selection of pulling points was down to the driver and a waiver was signed. Generally not needed though as insurance doesn't cover the area between high and low water anyway.

Scotland 2004 Defender 90 Td5 SW Yellow
Having watched this a few times, it looks like the Landy stalled and stopped. That's why there is no engine noise after the bump. The car driver obviously wasn't checking his mirrors whilst reversing.
