Misbehaving head unit
Anyone had the OE head unit radio signal drop out when you hit bumps? Then display an error message something like "ERROR 09"

Or when you open the door/get in, the head unit is on - and has been for god knows how long? Or a few times I have turned the unit off, then driving along the road it just turns itself back on?

Is the unit goosed or is it something else?

Is it tight in the dash - have you pulled it to make sure the cables are firmly connected? Mike

Does the windscreen seal leak at all?

If it's just the Land Rover branded one (rather than the Alpine one), they're only about £20 on ebay, so not worth spending a lot of time on repairing.

Yeah I had a look the other day. Looking like around £70 for a replacement. Just want to check it is my unit and not something else

Mine did that for months couldn't fathom out what was wrong until I decided to take it out one day, inserted the keys and pulled it forward and the connectors fell out of the radio I had not pushed them in far enough for the "click" when they latched in. Don't make old people mad.
We don't like being old in the first place,
so it doesn't take much to Censored us off.

My current Td5 90 used to do that, only it would also coincide with the ABS modulator chattering, I found it was due to a loose earth connection on the bulkhead, (behind the coolant expansion bottle.)

Following your suggestions I went and checked the ISO plugs and the earth behind the coolant expansion tank but no no avail. Time for a new head unit I think
